Set against the brilliant blue of the Caribbean sea and sky, our Visitor Experience invites guests from around the world to discover the secrets behind Barbados' finest spirit. Greeted in our lush green garden, visitors will explore the history, heritage and craft of Mount Gay Rum while enjoying a rum tasting to complete the experience.
1 hr - Tour times - 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, last tour 2:30. On the Signature Rum Tasting you will learn about the rich history of Mount Gay Rum after meeting your Brand Host, the tour will kick off with complimentary welcome Rum Punch. While you enjoy your cocktail your host will take you on a journey through the Legacy Museum which offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into the illustrious history of Mount Gay Rum and the island of Barbados. From there, you will view a short film which gives an explanation of the process of how Mount Gay rums are produced. Next, you will be taken to the Tasting Room where you will enjoy an experience of flavour of 3 Mount Gay rums. Your host will walk you through the tasting explaining the differences between each rum that you taste. To complete the tasting, you will then be taken to the Signature Bar for a chance to indulge in some wonderfully crafted cocktails with the very knowledgeable mixologists. After the tasting, make sure to visit the gift shop to purchase some bottles or souvenirs for yourself. Some of the rums can only be purchased on the island! You can also enjoy finger foods or lunch for purchase at the Live Grill.

This is a real must for anyone visiting the island who enjoys a drop of rum! I can’t speak highly enough of our tour guide, Ramal. Expertly delivered information on the history of rum production at Mount Gay right up to current processes. A fascinating insight on the maturity process of rum production, all delivered with a natural splash of humour and warmth. The rum tasting session was really educational and included lots of tips on how to enjoy the rum with a variety of different pairings and cocktails. Worth every penny and I will definitely repeat the experience on my return visit to Barbados! Don’t hesitate, book the tour you won’t be disappointed!
Had the most amazing time at the rum distillery. Was very informative and entertaining. Rico (Chico Rico) was amazing and was a pleasure to be in his last tour group! Have recommended it to everyone I have spoken too. Will be coming back again! The Rum was also absolutely amazing. Value for money without a doubt!

I cannot start this review without acknowledging the exceptional tour guide Rommel. He was beyond impressive with his knowledge, his jokes and his calm demeanor. The tour itself was quite informative and eye opening with a video to show you the breakdown of how the Rum comes to be and the process the the Master Blender has to go through. The Rum was amazing as its standard customary. I encourage everyone to visit this amazing centre and learn the history of Mount Gay Rum!!!
Our favorite part was the tasting. We also enjoyed the video that revealed some of the interesting history of Mount Gay.
Wonderful tour with an in depth insight into this working factory. Started with a rum punch on arrival. Romal our tour guide was knowledgeable and humorous which made for a fun tour. Interesting to see the focus on sustainability on site. The tour didn’t feel rushed and we enjoyed the tasting session at the end! Noteworthy point is that we could purchase some bottle items on site but the main shop is located at the visitor centre in Bridgetown, not at the Distillery.
