Great value - fun and interesting

We attended the MG visitors centre in August 2022 as a couple and paid 50USD each for the tasting and cocktail making workshop. It was great value for money and we both really enjoyed it.
We were picked up by a private taxi and taken to the MGVC. This is included in the price (transport there and back). We were greeted by the friendly staff in the gift shop and then walked through to the bar for our welcome cocktail (rum punch!) which was nice. We waited a little while until the experience started but I think this was because we came slightly early (or the others came late..).
Zariah was our tour guide and she was brilliant. Her delivery of the tour was full of humour but this didnât detract from her obvious care for the products and the MG brand. The tasting was great. We felt like we really learnt a lot about both how to assess the quality/characteristics of rum.
The cocktail making was really fun and praise to the member of staff running this part of the tour (male bartender, didnât catch his name). He was energetic and made sure we all made great cocktails. We even got a cheeky shot at the end!!
All in all, this trip with transportation for 50USD is brilliant value and one of the best experiences weâve had on our holiday. The staff we were exposed to all presented a great image of the MG brand.

The staff are so friendly and polite, the tour guild was very knowledgeable and funny. I learnt a lot about rum and how to make a run punch been making them every day since.

Excellent few hours at the mount bay distillery! Our guide for the afternoon was super helpful answering questions and letting us know all about the art of rum making. We then did the cocktail workshop which was excellent rum punch definitely tastes better when you make it yourself.

Such a fun excursion. Two couples and we all had fun. Short tour and then rum tasting. The host made it fun. Learned how to make two cocktails âŠgreat day in Barbados!

Best way to learn about rum

Fun experience - you start with a tour of the center and learn a bit of history. Then you proceed to tasting the product - 4 different rums as the guide explains the color, notes and consistency. Finally, there is a cocktail workshop where you make 2 cocktails and end with a final symbolic shot of rum. All in all you have a very good amount of rum and you definitely appreciate the ride back to your hotel. Would definitely recommend it!

Very high quality event, we did lunch, tour and cocktail mixing, everyone, no exception was phenomenal. Lunch was best yet in Barbados, I had the tuna salad w fries best made, conrats to chef and staff

Great afternoon experience, learnt a lot about rum manufacturing from the very friendly and knowledgable staff. The rum certainly helped when making new friends as by the end of the afternoon a group of strangers were conversing as if they had known each other for years!

The mixology was fabulous, the tour guide was very upbeat. Recommend the films or guild talk more about how rum is made (they did address in the film, but not in any detail.

The tour guide is very knowledgeable about its history and taught how to properly taste the various rums. I recommend eating a meal before going. It's alot to consume... especially a morning tour.

Really good fun and would definitely recommend. The bus was a lot louder going back than on the way thanks to the copious amounts of rum you are plied with
